Finding Open Textbooks
There are a number of catalogs to help you find OERs. Some focus on K-12 education, some on College and University texts and others on texts for specific subjects. Suggested meta-catalogs for University courses include:
Open textbook consortium hosted by the University of Minnesota. Other members include Virginia Tech, Ohio State University, and the University of Arizona.
Openly Available Sources Integrated Search (OASIS) is a search tool that aims to make the discovery of open content easier. OASIS currently searches open content from 57 different sources and contains 159,459 records.
OASIS is being developed at SUNY Geneseo’s Milne Library in consultation with Alexis Clifton, SUNY OER Services Executive Director.
The meta finder searches multiple OER repositories, open courseware sites, and government websites for open and public domain content.
