Welcome!

Parent reading with child

We are delighted that you are interested in supporting your child’s language and literacy development by learning more about dialogic reading. The Dialogic Reading Education Through Accessible Modules (DREAM) Program was developed, tested, and refined in collaboration with families like yours. It has also been evaluated through a randomized controlled trial, with findings showing positive and promising effects on children’s language and communication skills. The program consists of three brief modules (approximately 30 minutes each), thoughtfully designed to be both practical and accessible for busy families while providing meaningful strategies you can continue using to support your child’s learning for years to come.

NOTE: For the best experience, we recommend accessing this program using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Some features may not display or function correctly in other browsers, such as Apple Safari.

The Dialogic Reading Education Through Accessible Modules Program

The DREAM program guides you through three modules, designed to be completed over three weeks (one per week), with each module taking approximately 30 minutes to finish. Each component has been thoughtfully developed based on adult learning principles and research. While more information is provided on the Modules page, each module consists of:

  • A brief reflection
  • A short lesson
  • An example video
  • A coaching activity
  • A knowledge check
