Autism Support Program
The goal of the University of Arkansas Autism Support Program is to provide the intensive assistance that students with high-functioning autism, Asperger’s syndrome, PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified), and non-verbal learning disability need in order to be successful in college. Our students are matriculated University of Arkansas undergraduates who have the cognitive abilities to be in college but require more help than their typical peers to complete a college degree. Students enrolled in the program receive support in three areas: academics, transitioning to independent adult roles and social skills.

The Career Studio is a service provided by the Offices of Career Connections. Staffed by highly-trained Career Peer Mentors, these undergraduate and graduate students represent multiple academic programs on campus. The Studio provides an open-concept environment where UA students and alumni can drop in for general career-related services without an appointment. Students can receive basic one-on-one and group advising/coaching for some of the Career Connections’ most popular services, including resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, LinkedIn profile reviews, and more!

U of A Cares Student Emergency Fund
If the financial situation is a short-term issue, the U of A Cares Student Emergency Fund may be a good resource to pursue. The purpose of the U of A Cares Emergency Fund is to assist University of Arkansas students with short-term emergencies. These funds are not intended to be used for routine expenses or as a consistent supplement. Emergency situations could include but are not limited to: death or serious illness of a parent, spouse or child, housing fire/flood, or other extenuating circumstances. This fund cannot be used to provide tuition support.

Grade Forgiveness
Undergraduate Grade Exclusion Policy
Under the Grade Exclusion Policy, undergraduate students may improve their University of Arkansas (UA) undergraduate cumulative grade-point average (GPA) by requesting that the university exclude up to 9 credit hours in courses taken at the UA in which a grade of “D” or “F” was received. The excluded courses will no longer be used to compute the UA GPA. Students must file a petition with the Office of the Registrar to use grade exclusion indicating which course(s) they choose to grade exclude.

Safety
RazALERT
The RazALERT system (pronounced raise-alert) is the U of A’s primary emergency notification system and the most common form of communication about campus safety issues, including emergency weather alerts. Any time there is an immediate threat to campus safety, RazALERT emergency messages are sent automatically to all campus phones and email addresses. Title IX and Mandatory Reporting
We are required to report sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and incidence of abuse or neglect of minors
Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
For incidents of abuse or neglect of minors, Arkansas law requires reporting of abuse or neglect to the Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-482-5964) established by the Department of Human Services. University employees and volunteers must also report such instances to the University of Arkansas Police Department at 479-575-2222.
Bus
Razorback Transit provides bus routes to and from campus and various parts of Fayetteville. The interactive PassioGo map shows the routes and real-time bus tracking.
Scooter
Two outside companies provide e-scooter rentals in the Fayetteville community. E-scooters may be ridden anywhere that bicycles are allowed. The core of campus is a slow zone, meaning stay below 6 mph and be considerate of fellow travelers.
Permits for students are available in several classifications, and our new parking map helps outline the renumbered parking lots. Remember that before home games and other special events, certain parking lots do have to be vacated. Parking tickets can be handled online.

Accessibility
For those with accessibility needs that keep them from being able to use Razorback Transit, our Paratransit service is here to help. Cooperative Emergency Outreach
CEO provides emergency assistance to residents of Washington County, AR living south of the NWA Mall. They are open weekdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
They serve up to 15 clients each session on a first come first served basis. All inquiries are handled in person at CEO 1649 E Huntsville Rd in Fayetteville.
