Unit 2 Introduction

Welcome to Unit 2: Provide Background, where you will expand your knowledge of the community you chose in Unit 1. Initially, you’ll deepen your research into a written description of your community, using the information from your proposal as a starting point. Then we’ll move into digital and multi-modal forms of communication, as you create an infographic to showcase the information from your written assignment in a compelling and visual way. The goal of the infographic is to show outsiders the most important things to understand about this community in an accessible format.
In order to prepare you for this project, the four chapters in this unit will be focused on digital media and related concepts, from basic design principles to accessibility in digital spaces. By the end of this unit, you should be prepared to create a multi-modal version of any data set you encounter, in college and beyond.
